Evil Nun: Horror at School - Play Free Online
Escape Eagle Junior High School before Sister Madeline completes her ritual โ 4 escape routes, stealth survival, and a dark backstory inspired by real events.
๐ซWhat is Evil Nun: Horror at School?
Evil Nun: Horror at School (also titled Evil Nun: Horror in the School) is a first-person stealth horror game developed by Keplerians, the Spanish indie studio behind the Ice Scream series. Released on August 12, 2018, it has accumulated over 50 million plays across platforms.
Inspired by real events, the game is set inside a boarding school in the 1960s. After receiving a mysterious invitation to summer camp, you find yourself trapped inside Eagle Junior High School โ a labyrinthine building patrolled by a volatile nun with a hammer, six missions to complete, and four possible ways out.
๐Sister Madeline โ The Antagonist
Sister Madeline is the nun who runs Eagle Junior High School. She carries a large hammer and patrols the building unpredictably. One strike knocks you unconscious โ you wake up back in your dormitory and must try again.
Her backstory drives the horror: Sister Madeline lost her daughter Elisa in a bomb explosion during wartime. Consumed by grief and madness, she now performs dark rituals and experiments on kidnapped children โ a desperate attempt to bring Elisa back to life. The Satanic shrine hidden within the school is the center of her obsession.
๐บ๏ธEagle Junior High School โ Rooms & Areas
The school is a multi-floor building with interconnected rooms. Learning the layout is essential for navigating safely and locating key items:
Dormitory
Your starting point. Contains a bed and a vent as an alternate exit route. You return here each time Sister Madeline catches you.
Church
Houses a Satanic shrine used by Sister Madeline for her rituals. A torch from here is needed for the Hot Air Balloon ending.
Kitchen
Contains food items and key objects for certain puzzles. Often patrolled โ move carefully.
Laundry Room
Children are forced to work here. Central to the Hot Air Balloon escape. Cutting the bell wire here ensures Sister Philippa stays asleep.
Basement / Boiler Room
Lower level with the boiler and hidden gas tanks under wooden planks. Required for the balloon escape.
Bell Tower
Accessible from upper floors. Throw a heavy object at the bell โ the vibration causes pigeons to break a nearby window.
Attic
Upper-level storage. Used for traversal and item discovery. Accessible via vents.
Classrooms
Several classrooms throughout the building. Items and puzzle components are scattered here.
Hallways & Vents
Sister Madeline's patrol routes. Learn her movement patterns. Vents offer alternate paths to avoid direct confrontation.
Garden & Parking
Outdoor areas adjacent to the school. The parking lot connects to the Mysterious Man and the Air Transport Plans.
๐ชAll 4 Escape Routes (Endings)
There are four distinct ways to escape Eagle Junior High School, each requiring different items and a different path through the building:
1. Main Door โ Easiest Escape
The fastest and most straightforward route. Recommended for first-time players.
- Find the Small Cable and place it in the Electric Panel
- Open the Automatic Blind
- Collect the Crowbar, Yellow Key, and Paint Pot as needed along the route
- Find a Broom to clear the final obstacle and exit through the front
2. Through the Parking Lot
An alternate outdoor escape route through the parking area adjacent to the school. Requires locating specific keys and navigating the exterior without being spotted. A mid-difficulty route with fewer puzzle steps than the balloon ending.
3. Hot Air Balloon โ Rescue the Children
The most complex ending. Requires freeing the children from the Laundry Room and building an escape for everyone.
- Get the Air Transport Plans from the Mysterious Man in the parking
- Use Scissors to cut the Laundry bell wire โ keeps Sister Philippa asleep
- Deliver the plans to the Crafter Boy
- Guide the disabled child out of the Laundry Room
- Use a Crowbar to remove wooden planks and retrieve the two Gas Tanks
- Attach both Gas Tanks to the balloon outside
- Light a wooden stick from the Satanic shrine fire in the Church
- Use the torch to ignite the balloon โ guide all children aboard
4. Through the Sewers
The underground escape route beneath the school. Accessed via the basement. Requires locating sewer access items and navigating the lower level without alerting Sister Madeline. A longer route but avoids the more patrolled upper floors.
โ๏ธCore Mechanics
๐คซ Stealth
Every footstep is audible. Sister Madeline patrols unpredictably โ learn her routes before committing to a path. Crouch to reduce noise. Running is loud and will draw her immediately.
๐ Inventory
Carry one item at a time. Plan your routes and drop items in safe locations to retrieve later. Efficient inventory management is the difference between completing a puzzle in one pass or five.
๐ Bell Tower
Throw a heavy object at the bell in the Bell Tower. The vibration startles pigeons roosting above โ they break a nearby window, creating a new traversal path or distraction for Sister Madeline.
๐ป Ghost Mode
An optional difficulty setting that removes constant pursuit, letting you explore the school and solve puzzles without being caught. Ideal for learning the layout before attempting a real escape.
๐กTips to Escape
- 1.
Use Ghost Mode first: Walk the entire school in Ghost Mode to memorize the layout, item locations, and Sister Madeline's patrol patterns before attempting a real escape. The school is large and disorienting at first.
- 2.
Carry one item at a time โ plan your drops: When you pick up an item you can't use yet, drop it in the nearest safe room along your route. Mentally map where everything is stored.
- 3.
Use vents to bypass patrolled hallways: Several areas are accessible through vent shafts. Madeline cannot follow you into vents โ they are your safest traversal option when she is nearby.
- 4.
Start with the Main Door ending: It's the shortest route and teaches the core loop โ item retrieval, Madeline avoidance, and puzzle interaction. Complete it once before attempting the Hot Air Balloon or Sewer endings.
- 5.
Check the Laundry Room and basement thoroughly: Multiple secret items are hidden here, including the Gas Tanks under the wooden planks. The mysterious boy with blue hands also appears near this area โ finding him contributes to 100% completion.
