30 years later. One animatronic. Pure terror. Face Springtrap at Fazbear's Fright.
🎮What is Five Nights at Freddy's 3?
Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (FNAF 3) is the third main installment in Scott Cawthon's legendary horror series, released on March 2, 2015. Set 30 years after the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed, the game takes place at Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction — a horror-themed amusement park based on the urban legends of the haunted pizzeria.
Unlike previous games with multiple animatronics, FNAF 3 features only one real threat: Springtrap — a rotting animatronic suit containing the corpse of the serial killer William Afton, the infamous Purple Guy. The Phantom animatronics create distractions, but only Springtrap can kill you.
🤖Springtrap - The Main Threat
🐰 Springtrap (Spring Bonnie)
Springtrap is a deteriorated Spring Bonnie suit — a hybrid "springlock" animatronic that could function as both a wearable costume and an autonomous robot. Inside is the mummified corpse of William Afton, who tried to hide in the suit 30 years ago. The springlocks failed, crushing him inside.
Springtrap is intelligent and methodical. He follows audio cues you play to lure him away, navigates through vents, and will find alternate routes if blocked. His movement is deliberate — he's hunting you, not just wandering. If he reaches your office, it's game over.
👻 Phantom Animatronics
The Phantoms are hallucinations that cannot kill you but cause critical system failures:
👻 Phantom Freddy
Limps past your office window. If you stare at him too long, he jumpscares you and disables the ventilation system. Look away when you see him approaching.
👻 Phantom Chica
Appears on the arcade machine screen (CAM 07). Looking at her triggers a jumpscare and disables ventilation. Quickly switch cameras when you spot her.
👻 Phantom Foxy
Appears randomly in your office. His jumpscare disables both the ventilation AND audio systems. He's the most disruptive phantom. Stay alert.
👻 Phantom Mangle
Appears in your office window. Looking at her triggers a jumpscare and causes audio errors — constant static until you reboot the audio system.
👻 Phantom BB
Balloon Boy appears on various cameras. If you see him and don't switch cameras fast enough, he jumpscares you and disables the ventilation.
👻 Phantom Puppet
The Marionette appears on CAM 08. Staring at it triggers a long jumpscare that blocks your vision, giving Springtrap time to advance toward your office.
🎯Gameplay Mechanics
FNAF 3 introduces new systems that require careful management:
🔊 Audio Lure System
Your primary defense against Springtrap. Play audio cues on specific cameras to lure him away from your office. He's attracted to sound and will investigate. Use this to keep him in distant rooms. The system can malfunction and requires rebooting.
🌬️ Ventilation System
Phantoms disable your ventilation when they jumpscare you. If ventilation stays down too long, you start hallucinating more frequently and can pass out. Monitor the vent status and reboot when needed.
📹 Camera System
Track Springtrap's location and play audio lures. Unlike previous games, you can also seal vents to slow Springtrap's movement. The cameras can malfunction due to phantom attacks.
🔧 Maintenance Panel
Access the maintenance panel to reboot failed systems: Audio, Video, and Ventilation. Rebooting takes time and leaves you vulnerable. Prioritize based on the current threat level.
🚪 Vent Sealing
Seal vents to temporarily block Springtrap's path. He'll find another route, but this buys you time. Double-click a vent on the camera map to seal it. Only one vent can be sealed at a time.
🌙Night-by-Night Guide
Night 1 - Introduction
Springtrap isn't active yet. Learn the camera layout and system mechanics. Phone Dude explains the horror attraction concept. Some phantom hallucinations may occur. Use this night to practice rebooting systems.
Night 2 - Springtrap Awakens
Springtrap becomes active. He moves slowly but deliberately. Use audio lures to keep him in CAM 01 or CAM 10. Phantoms become more frequent. Develop a routine for checking cameras and managing systems.
Night 3 - Aggressive Pursuit
Springtrap moves faster and is more aggressive. Phantoms attack more frequently, causing system failures. Balance your attention between luring Springtrap, rebooting systems, and avoiding phantom jumpscares.
Night 4 - System Chaos
Systems fail more often. Springtrap sometimes ignores audio lures. Phone Dude's calls reveal old training tapes from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, explaining springlock suits. Power through the system failures.
Night 5 - Final Night
The final main story night. Springtrap is extremely aggressive. Systems fail constantly. Audio lures are less effective. Survive until 6 AM to see the ending — the attraction burns down.
Night 6 - Nightmare Mode
Unlocked after completing Night 5. A brutal challenge where everything is at maximum difficulty. Completing this unlocks the second star. Springtrap is relentless and systems fail constantly.
Aggressive Nightmare
The ultimate challenge mode. All threats are maximized. Completing this mode and the hidden minigames unlocks the true "Good Ending" where the souls of the murdered children are finally freed.
💡Survival Tips
- 1.
Keep Springtrap in distant rooms: Use audio lures on CAM 01, CAM 09, or CAM 10 to keep him far from your office. Check his location frequently and lure him back if he moves closer.
- 2.
Prioritize ventilation reboots: If ventilation stays down, phantoms appear more often and cause a feedback loop. Reboot ventilation first unless Springtrap is at your door.
- 3.
Don't stare at Phantoms: When you see Phantom Freddy walking past, look away. When you see Phantom Chica on a camera, switch immediately. Avoiding phantoms prevents system failures.
- 4.
Seal the right vent: When Springtrap enters CAM 14 (the vent leading to your office), seal it immediately. This forces him to find another route, buying crucial time.
- 5.
Use audio lures strategically: Don't spam audio lures. Springtrap learns to ignore them if used too often. Wait until he moves closer before luring him away.
📖Story & Endings
🔥 Bad Ending
Complete all 5 nights normally. The attraction burns down in an "accidental" fire, but a newspaper reveals that the animatronic (Springtrap) survived and was salvaged. William Afton lives on, setting up future games.
✨ Good Ending
Complete all hidden minigames by clicking on specific objects between nights. Collect all the cake endings for the dead children. The true ending shows the animatronic heads with their lights going dark — the children's souls are finally freed after 30 years.
💀 Springtrap's Origin
The minigames reveal William Afton's fate. When the ghosts of his victims cornered him, he hid in the Spring Bonnie suit. The springlocks failed, crushing and killing him. His corpse rotted inside for 30 years until the horror attraction discovered him.
