Five Nights at Freddy's 4 - Play Free Online Unblocked
The final chapter. Face your nightmares in the bedroom. No cameras. Only sound.
🎮What is Five Nights at Freddy's 4?
Five Nights at Freddy's 4 (FNAF 4), subtitled "The Final Chapter," is the fourth main installment in Scott Cawthon's horror series, released on July 23, 2015. Originally intended to be the final game, FNAF 4 takes the horror to its most personal and terrifying level yet.
You play as a child trapped in their bedroom, tormented by Nightmare animatronics — grotesque, fanged versions of the original characters. Set in 1983, the game reveals the tragic backstory of the "Bite of '83" through minigames. There are no cameras — only your ears and a flashlight stand between you and the monsters in the dark.
🤖The Nightmare Animatronics
These twisted versions of the animatronics are more terrifying than ever:
🐻 Nightmare Freddy
A monstrous Freddy with razor-sharp teeth and claws. He doesn't approach directly — instead, he spawns Freddles (mini-Freddies) on your bed. If you don't shine your flashlight on them, Nightmare Freddy materializes and attacks.
🐰 Nightmare Bonnie
Approaches from the left door. Listen for breathing at the door. If you hear it, close the door and wait. If you don't hear breathing, use your flashlight to scare him away. Opening the door when he's there means instant death.
🐥 Nightmare Chica
Approaches from the right door. Same mechanics as Nightmare Bonnie — listen for breathing. She brings her Nightmare Cupcake, which can also appear independently in the hallway or on your bed.
🦊 Nightmare Foxy
Hides in your closet. Check the closet regularly — if you see him peeking, shine your light to reset him. Ignore him too long and he becomes a Foxy plushie head that jumpscares you. Check often but not obsessively.
💀 Ultimate Nightmares
🎩 Nightmare Fredbear
Appears on Night 5 and 6, replacing the other animatronics. The original golden bear responsible for the Bite of '83. He attacks from both doors AND the bed/closet. You must manage all threats alone — he's faster and deadlier.
☠️ Nightmare
The ultimate threat on Night 7 and 8. A jet-black, translucent version of Fredbear with a yellow hat. He's nearly invisible in the dark — you can only see his teeth and eyes. The hardest enemy in the game.
👻 Plushtrap
A mini-game between nights. A small Springtrap plush sits in a hallway with an X on the floor. Shine your light when he lands exactly on the X to win. Success lets you skip 2 hours on the next night (start at 2 AM instead of 12 AM).
🎯Gameplay Mechanics
FNAF 4 strips away cameras and power meters. Survival depends entirely on listening:
👂 Audio-Based Survival
Headphones are essential. Listen for breathing at each door before acting. Breathing means an animatronic is right there — close the door and hold it. No breathing means you can safely use your flashlight. One wrong guess = death.
🔦 Flashlight
Your flashlight scares away animatronics in the hall (if they're not at the door). Use it to check the bed for Freddles and reset Foxy in the closet. Unlike FNAF 1, the flashlight has unlimited battery — but using it at the wrong time kills you.
🚪 Two Doors (No Locks)
Your bedroom has two doors but no locks. You must physically hold them shut when an animatronic is breathing outside. Hold until the breathing stops and footsteps walk away. Let go too early and you die.
🛏️ The Bed
Check behind you regularly. Nightmare Freddy's Freddles accumulate on the bed. Shine your flashlight to scare them away. If three Freddles gather, Nightmare Freddy materializes for an instant kill.
🚪 The Closet
Nightmare Foxy hides here. Check it regularly — if he's peeking out, shine your light to push him back. If you see a Foxy plushie head filling the closet, it's too late — he'll jumpscare you next time you check.
🌙Night-by-Night Guide
Night 1 - Learning to Listen
Nightmare Bonnie, Nightmare Chica, and Nightmare Foxy are active. Learn to identify breathing sounds at doors. Check the closet every few cycles. Freddles are slow to accumulate. Focus on mastering the listening mechanic.
Night 2 - Nightmare Freddy Joins
Nightmare Freddy's Freddles become active. Add bed checks to your routine. Animatronics move faster. The minigames between nights reveal a child being bullied and locked in rooms.
Night 3 - Increased Aggression
All animatronics are more aggressive. Breathing detection becomes critical. Foxy requires more frequent checks. Minigames show the child's brother and friends wearing Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy masks.
Night 4 - Pre-Bite Tension
The hardest night with the regular animatronics. They're extremely fast and aggressive. Minigames show the child being taken to Fredbear's Family Diner for a birthday party despite his terror.
Night 5 - Nightmare Fredbear
Only Nightmare Fredbear is active. He replaces all other animatronics. He attacks from both doors, spawns on the bed, and appears in the closet. The minigame reveals the Bite of '83 — the child is placed in Fredbear's mouth as a prank, and the animatronic bites down.
Night 6 - Fredbear Returns
Nightmare Fredbear again, but more aggressive. The final minigame shows the child in a coma, with Fredbear plush speaking to him: "I will put you back together." The child dies from his injuries.
Night 7 & 8 - Nightmare
The true final challenge. Nightmare — a shadowy, translucent version of Fredbear — hunts you. He's nearly invisible, making audio cues absolutely critical. Completing Night 8 unlocks the final star.
💡Survival Tips
- 1.
ALWAYS listen before acting: At each door, wait 2-3 seconds and listen for breathing. If you hear it, hold the door. If not, use the flashlight. Never skip this step.
- 2.
Use headphones: This game is designed for stereo audio. Breathing sounds are subtle. Without headphones, you'll die repeatedly because you can't hear the cues.
- 3.
Develop a routine: Left door → Right door → Closet → Bed → Repeat. Consistency prevents you from forgetting any threat. Adjust timing based on how aggressive they are.
- 4.
Don't over-check the closet: Checking too often can make Foxy more aggressive. Check every 2-3 door cycles. If he's peeking, one flash resets him. If he's a plush head, you're already dead.
- 5.
Win Plushtrap for a head start: Between nights, beat the Plushtrap minigame to skip 2 hours. Starting at 2 AM instead of 12 AM makes difficult nights much more manageable.
📖Story & Lore - The Bite of '83
👦 The Crying Child
You play as a young boy traumatized by Fredbear's Family Diner. He's terrified of the animatronics, seeing them as monsters. His older brother and friends bully him relentlessly, wearing animatronic masks to scare him. The nightmares in the game represent his fears made manifest.
🎂 The Birthday Party
On his birthday in 1983, the child is brought to Fredbear's despite his pleas. His brother and friends grab him as a "prank" and shove his head into Fredbear's mouth. The animatronic's jaw closes, crushing the child's skull. This is the Bite of '83.
🧸 "I Will Put You Back Together"
In the final minigame, the Fredbear plush speaks to the dying child: "I will put you back together." Many fans believe this child becomes Golden Freddy or that his soul merges with the other victims. The Afton family tragedy deepens.
👨👦 The Afton Family
The crying child is believed to be one of William Afton's sons. His brother (the bully) is likely Michael Afton, who appears in later games trying to atone. Elizabeth Afton, the sister, dies via Circus Baby in FNAF: Sister Location. This family is cursed.

❓Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the Bite of '87 or '83?
FNAF 4 depicts the Bite of '83, not '87. The TV in the minigames shows "Fredbear and Friends 1983." The Bite of '87 mentioned in FNAF 1 is a different incident, likely involving Mangle in FNAF 2.
Who is the crying child?
Fans call him "Evan Afton" or "C.C." (Crying Child). He's believed to be William Afton's youngest son. His fate after death is debated — some believe he becomes Golden Freddy, others think he's "put back together" differently.
Are the nightmares real?
They're likely nightmares of a child in a coma after the bite. However, FNAF: Sister Location's blueprints show "Nightmare Animatronics" exist as real experiments. The truth is deliberately ambiguous.
